Payment services with Mollie B.V., Netherlands
Marcus Gaster Schmuckwaren handles all its payment transactions through Molie B.V., the Netherlands (Amsterdam).
Mollie B.V. (Mollie), a company registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 30204462, is a payment service provider authorised by the Dutch Central Bank (DNB).
According to its own company information, Mollie is one of the leading Payment Service Providers (PSP) in Europe. Mollie was founded in 2004 in the Netherlands by Adriaan Mol and has its headquarters in Amsterdam with further branches in Belgium, France and Germany in Munich and Kiel. Today, Mollie employs around 700 people. Around 130,000 customers across Europe process their online payment transactions via the cloud-based Mollie platform.
As the funds in the account of Stichting Mollie Payments are separated from the funds held in the bank account of Mollie B.V., the use of Stichting Mollie Payments guarantees that the funds of third parties are never mixed with the funds held in the account of Mollie B.V.. This has the advantage that a seizure or insolvency of Mollie B.V. has no effect on the funds that Mollie handles for its clients. Both Mollie and Stichting Mollie Payments are subject to supervision by DNB.
On the basis of a payment agreement between Mollie and Marcus Gaster Schmuckwaren as operator of the online shop Theia Gems (www.theiagems.de), Mollie establishes the connection between the webshop operator and buyers via payment methods such as MasterCard, Visa, Sofort, American Express or Bancontact. Mollie's service is limited to processing a payment on behalf of the webshop operator and the subsequent transfer of funds to the webshop operator's bank account - Mollie is therefore not a party to the purchase contract between the consumer and the webshop operator.
Shipping services with DHL Paket GmbH, Bonn, Germany
Marcus Gaster Schmuckwaren handles its shipping for its THEIA GEMS® online shop primarily through DHL Paket GmbH, Bonn. DHL Paket GmbH (DHL) is a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL Group.
According to the company, DHL is represented in Germany with 36 parcel centers and, together with Deutsche Post, with 26,000 service points, including 13,000 post offices, 2,300 points of sale, and 10,500 parcel shops, as well as over 10,000 Packstations. By September 2018, 27 countries had been integrated into the DHL Parcel Europe network, including Switzerland.
Based on a shipping service agreement between DHL and Marcus Gaster Schmuckwaren, Offenbach am Main, DHL handles the entire shipping process, from pickup from the THEIA GEMS® online shop to delivery to the customer in Europe (EU territory).

Web hosting with Strato AG, Berlin (Germany)
Marcus Gaster Schmuckwaren has commissioned Strato AG, Berlin (Germany), for all of its web hosting. Strato AG is an internet service provider based in Berlin and part of the United Internet group of companies. The company operates a data center in Berlin and one in Karlsruhe, with data being mirrored between the two locations. More than 70,000 servers with 4 million domains are operated and managed. Both data centers have been certified annually for their security according to ISO 27001 since 2004. Since 2008, the data centers have been operated completely CO2-neutrally using hydroelectric power.
